So what’s hard lighting ??

Technically lighting that is direct, un diffused and is not bouncing or scattered by local objects. It can be direct sunlight or off camera flash head with out soft box.

It’s used by many photographers to give their subjects a bit more of an edge and also to make their subjects stand out. Here are some examples..
